I lived there (In Georgia in many places, not in Tiflis/ Tbilisi) for around 7 months.
Did not like it overall.
All is overpriced.
Terrible ratio quality/price.
Mostly, usually - zero customer service whatsoever; funny thing is: you always get charged 10 % in restaurants for "service", which I dont know..what is.
Weather changes all the time...
Like poster before (Abdullah) said, one of the few good things there is a nature (many Arabs come there, as they probably dont have that much green/forest/ rain in their own countries). And yes, nature does include 1000;s of stray dogs...including caucasian shepherds....It takes one look @ these dogs and compare them with Turkish (Turkey, Georgia's neighbour) stray dogs (that are mostly friendly and socialized) to make a conclusion about the country...
Georgia is a wild country.
People are mostly grumpy, rude, and everyone that says that Georgians are hospitable and warm...Surely never experienced what is a warmness and a real hospitality.
Many Georgians speak/ understand Russian, as they were part of USSR/ CCCP, and yes, Russia is one of their neighbours.
However, they hate it, and they have "higher aspirations". However, aspirations and reality on the ground are two different things...Good to have aspirations though...And no, Georgia is not "unique" and "special" like many Georgians think about it/ present it.
After 2022 Russia- Ukraine madness, suddenly ;-), in Georgia hundreds of thousands of Russians moved to Georgia...Also, some refugees from Ukraine, and some people from Lukashenko's playground. Prices went up, and "poor" Georgian landlords finally could make some $$$ after 1-2 years of another madness - corona circus and lockdowns.
Things like kicking out current renters with 1 day notice (to make more from incoming desperate Russian deserters and people) were not that uncommon in Batumi or Tbilis..."Georgian hospitality".
Current rate lari/ usd (around 2.5 gel to 1 usd) is totally funny, Georgia is more expensive on many levels than developed countries that offer better quality and less hassle overall.
Good things about Georgia:
a) mobile internet is fast, widespread and not expensive
b) banking system is "open" and overall friendly
c) tax system (in theory) is very friendly
d) some nice places to see, if you like nature
e) some good people to meet, like everywhere.
f) some good wine to drink, but Bulgaria or Spain (for example) has better and cheaper wine. So no, Georgia is not "unique" again.

Food is mostly very heavy, made for lumberjacks/ people that work hard physically, however, some good fruits and vegetables to get, too.

Tbilisi city is a city full of dogs, international students , universities , and restaurants , its expensive if you want apartment (1 bed room and hall) it will be like 600$ average cost , utilities, gas. Heating is cheap compared to Europe or middle east , food is expensive (if you don't eat pork ofc) , transportation is cheap , young people know english and little of old people know english as well as russian , don't learn about russian or speak russian when you come here (learn georgian) , the problem is when dollar price increases everything (including products electronics etc) increases in price but when dollar price is going down nothing goes down everything will be the same price , electronics and shoes are expensive, there isn't much of fun in the city ,few tourist interest places , not alot of activities to do , more like quiet city ,nature and climate is the best thing about it 4 seasons in a day ,my advice for muslims:see information about the food you want to buy in the back of the product , don't eat (pepperoni , bacon , pork) always ask about the meat type if its chicken or beef or fish you can eat also 7days croissant isn't halal so avoid it , marjanishvili have arabic restaurants and are mostly halal food ,monthly cost living for a student is 500-600$ , for a family of 4 is 3000$ .

I didn't see anything fascinating about Tbilisi when I visited for 2 weeks.Infrastructure is definitely lacking and transportation as well.It looks more like a dog pound than an upscale city, dogs are everywhere. Basically a wasted 2 weeks my time never again.

I’m an American and I have been living in Tbilisi for the last 2 months and I pay $625 a month rent for a small studio in the city center next to liberty square and it’s the cheapest compared to other equivalent in size and price. A big shawarma costs $5.33 and a triple cheeseburger combo meal in McDonald’s is about $6. A cosmopolitan cocktail drink in a bar is about $6.66 whereas a draft beer costs $2.33 in the bar. One khinkali in the restaurant is about $0.40-0.80 each with a minimum order of 5 khinkali. A khachapuri is about $5. Overall, I find great value for the money I am paying despite the big cost of living increases in rent and food prices. Tbilisi, Georgia is a gem.

I visited Georgia last year, I spent my winter break in the country. Georgia is a welcoming country. I had read some statements saying the people are unfriendly and unkind, but based on my personal experience, people are gratifying! Yes, some of them can't speak English, especially the older ones. I suggest you ask questions or everything you want with the younger locals. They can fluently speak English.
Prices of products are surprisingly affordable, even the best liquor. All things considered best! My travel experience was truly satisfying and memorable.
