Alanya which was low cost tourist destination became pricy as Italy, France etc.
Alex on Jul 09, 2024:
the prices are incredible! especially for restaurants!! I was in Lisboa a month ago- it was cheaper there...As for the supermarkets- a very poor range of products. Meat prices- I wonder who can afford to buy a beef round? Couse it costs 30 EUR! And the average monthly salary is only for 15 kilos of meat...The alcohol prices are getting higher and higher...a greed to cheat a foreigner- it is a sense of life. As for the tourism I`m affraid they will definetely lose it

Very good from Thomas, I can only agree. TRY has been stable though over the last few months, but prices (especially in restaurants) have increased significantly, I will update if I can, but other prices have increased (Mahmutlar/Alanya)
Thomas on May 20, 2023:
Prices in restaurants and supermarkets are almost the same as in The Netherlands/Belgium/Germany nowadays. I am in Alanya at the moment and prices have increased at least by 60% compared to last year in may.. Even when the weaker Lira (80% inflation) should make stuff more affordable in Euro. I have visited Alanya for the last 6 years and see prices increase every year.

I predict tourism will decline rapidly due to high prices for eating out. Coming year prices may be higher than in Europe. Two years ago a peper steak in a restaurant would cost 8 euros, last year 12 euros and this year 20 euros! With these kinds of prices you can go to Italy or Greece.

The cost of living in Alanya has increased substantially within the last year. Numbeo has done a good job reflecting that above. If you don't have a rental or mortgage payment, a single foreigner (it does cost more for foreigners, as it should) can live quite well for 15.000 TL.
CDW Jansen on Oct 31, 2021:
I consider comfortable life to be having TL 25.000 per month (just to meet historical standard of living (smoking, drinking, restaurants, Netflix, Amazon, etc..)
Of course possible to maintain a good relative standard of living with less. Very much depends what you expect.

Spending TL 25.000 pm will considerably contribute to local economy, TL 5.000 far less.
A 5 K is possible, but will not you to do what you have in mind?
