My wife and I lived in Dar es salaam 3 months and Mwanza 3 months second biggest city in Tanzania. We thought it would be more low key but just like Dar es salaam and Arusha it wasn't. The people overall were nice for the most part. By Tanzania isn't as safe as it States here but it's random estimates.Flooding is a major occurrence plus black mold is present in the nicest hotels which can be fatal.Prices should be 50% more than stated here as well. We don't recommend Tanzania to even visit especially since infrastructure is severely lacking and prehistoric grid not reliable.

@ Anonymous Jan 26, 2021 - The reason so many black people live in Dar is the same reason too many Indians live in Mumbai.

I will be getting 800 USD per day after tax, with free housing, phone, vehicle, medical, and flights.

Will that be enough to buy a harem of slappers in Dar?

No body is perfect. If you're going to talk about someone consider not only his/her weaknesses alone. I don't think it's worth it to willingly welcome the pain and crying of millions of people in Africa and World in general to haunt you. Too much negativity will sometimes cloud our judgement and make us loose our way.

Magufuli has caused thousands of needless deaths in our country. He refused vaccines and also refused to wear a mask and he didn't allow any citizens to wear masks either. Many people were beaten and put in jail for wearing masks. It was confirmed that his executive secretary died from covid19 by a panel of doctors from Zambia after doctors from Zambia did an autopsy on him.His former secretary was originally from Zambia. Now Magufuli has met his fate dieing on February 7 of a heart attack supposedly.Although doctors wanted to do an autopsy on him to determine actual cause of death the government and his family wouldn't allow it but instead buried him promptly. Before Magufuli became president Tanzania was a diplomatic society citizens had freedom of expression but he changed all that.Magufuli didn't care how bad he made it on any citizens including his staff because it was all about him and only his way.As Tanzania citizens we will never allow any president to dictate our happiness way of expression our lives again.

Magufuli isn't missed rest assured.

Why are there so many black people in Dar es Salaam ?

750 usd a month is a very low offer. I live in Dar as a single person in a tiny apartment. My rent is $450 usd monthly electric is $200 monthly transportation taxi $100 usd monthly. There's no way a family of 3 could survive on $750 usd monthly no way.Food at open markets is expensive too. I make $900 usd monthly and after food costs I normally have around $80usd left each month. I took an offer of $1,300 usd per month but after I arrived in Dar my employer said that $1,300 usd should've been $900 usd each month. Yes they are wasting your time. Anyone coming to work for an employer anywhere in Tanzania cannot leave until their contract is completed remember that too. I have 2 months left on my contract then I'm outta here.

Tanzania is going through alot now due to the new administration. Freedom of speech has become a thing of the past. Tanzania used to be a much more pleasant country to live much more relaxing for families and all concerned.
