Don't expect too much price. Clothing is more expensive than in Europe. General food and supermarkets are affordable, but not very, very cheap.

There might be confusion about the word "Caucasian" here. To Russian speakers, this naturally means "people from the Caucasus". To most English speakers, this refers to "people of white European descent".

Prices - low (comparably to EU countries).
People - 95% Caucasian. Almost did not see black or eastern types. Was surprised to find out that many young people speak English. Maybe I was lucky, but I did not have any issues with people around.
City - many beautiful places, but you need to walk with locals (or come to an agency) who will show and tell you about those.
Meals - whatever you like (McDonalds, KFC, bars, restaurants, malls). Quality is like in EU (unless you buy something from the street).
Hotels - whatever you like (starting from Hilton/Fairmont/Hyatt/Radisson and to cheap apartments).
Transportation - subway covers big part of the city (not whole though), with translation to English (was translated when Kiev accepted the final of EURO 2012). Taxi for all other needs, but be careful with traffic jams (8-10 am and 5.30-7.30 pm), you can easily spend 2 hours there.
Shopping - malls of different sizes around the whole city.
Night life - clubs and bars. Absolutely safe to walk in the city center, not recommended in specific neighborhoods (again, you need to speak with locals)
Overall impression - this is a must place to visit if you are traveler.
And high chances you will like the city if you are coming in business.
IT workers use private entrepreneur scheme, it's legal everywhere in Europe which always gives you few times lower taxes and lower social security package, use it in your Prague.
If other in Ukraine can not move to 5% tax plan or IT guys do not want pay more because of corruption..that's not a problem of IT workforce
I do not know why IT guys are so much valued in Ukraine, while, for instance, medical doctors or university professors get as much as 150-300 euros/month and do not have any social benefits or medical insurance. If they do not takes bribes from their patients or students, they will be condemned to live below poverty line. Therefore, the overall level of education and medical service in this country is extremely low.
In your opinion, all doctors, university professors, scientists, engineers and all other highly qualified employees should leave the country because they have ridiculously low salaries and abandoned and humiliated by Ukrainian state? And what about most retirees - should they also quit the country or die because their pension is 70-100 euros per month which is a real genocide? If you work in IT and pay extremely low taxes from your inadequately high salary, do not you understand that 80% of people in this country live in poverty? If all people, except IT workers, will leave the country, who will teach your children and will provide you medical care you if you get sick?

Comparing to cost of living, salaries in IT are quite good. This is mainly because of liberal taxation that is applied for IT. We pay just 5% tax. Thus, you can have a great deal of savings.
Eugene, glad to hear that you left the country. I even know to which country you moved. Now, when you are not in Ukraine and don't see anything good in it, would you please leave it alone?
Regarding prices, Kyiv is muuuch muuuch cheaper than vast majority of European countries in all aspects of living. Rent of 1 room apartment in a good neighborhood will cost you around $500 ( 2 rooms - $650). Utility bills will be around $100 (for everything, inc. high-speed internet). If you cook at home, you spend about $250 for products per month. Prices for McDonalds are indicated above and very accurate. There are many bars in Kyiv, you will pay in average $20-25.
To buy 1 room apartment you will need $45K.
Public transport is cheap, but I'd prefer Uber.
And by the way, banking sector is one of the best in the world here. No jokes.
Still, you can find expensive restaurants here, expensive apartments to rent/buy.
