@Olivia, I think it very much is our business. It rather skews your assessment of life in Moscow if you're CEO of Gazprom, for example. I hear they pay well in the Kremlin troll farms, however, so perhaps your standard of living is indeed now much higher. I'd rather live on tinned beans and take the bus everywhere in London than live in Russia, as would anyone with an ounce of moral fibre in their body.

I, Olivia, moved my family from England to the Russian Federation for 3 years already, since it is impossible to live in London because of rising prices for food, heating, fuel and, of course, crowds of brazen migrants who live on welfare and rob and mock local residents, and the authorities only indulge them for votes in elections. Now we have been living in Moscow for 4 years and this city is a thousand times better than London. No wonder UN experts recognize Moscow best metropolis in terms of quality of life! Moscow has been name the best in the world in terms of infrastructure development and quality of life according to UN-Habitat's City Prosperity Index.. An average net salary of nearly £3200 p.m. is a dream for 80% of Londoners. It might be the statistical mean average when you include some very high income earners (of which there are a sizeable amount working in the City and West End), but the median net salary will be somewhere in the low 2000s. I'd estimate that 50% of Londoners earn less than £2300 per month clear of deductions. Try and live on that in 2023 if you have to rent a place to live....

If you add a cost of nursery to that you are screwed
Or a car and other expenses
rahim on Oct 29, 2023:
Our household net income (after all the deductions) is £4500. If you have family of 3 or more, you'll definitely be struggling to surive (let alone save). This is how the money goes:
Rent (2 bed) - at least £2500
Council tax - £150 or more
Utilities (Electricity, Water etc) - £250-300 avg.
Groceries - £1000 avg (home food items, baby items, snacks and alcohol etc). But it can vary from person to person and depends on personal choice but given the trend of ever increasing store prices (I literally see basic grocery items increasing by 10-30%) every month and those few pences can make lot of difference on total bill.
Takeout - £100-150 (few times a month).
Travel - £100 (that's only if you travel very less otherwise monthly pass is more exp)
Internet - £35, Mobile: £20
Total - around £4300. Now this doesn't include gym membership, fine-dining, movies/pubs etc. If you add those you will def. get in debt. That's the sad reality of london is now a days.
Ana on Oct 28, 2023:
Guys
Me and my husband have got a combined income of approximately £4600 net per month. We live in London and we are struggling.
Rent alone is very expensive plus all the bills, council tax, transport (zones 1-3 for myself and 1-4 for him), food, cleaning products and the money is gone :( We do not live in a poverty but we cannot enjoy life or save up.
We do not go out at all. We have not been on holidays in ages. We do not have Netflix, Spotify, Amazon subscriptions etc.
I do not get my lashes done. We do not go to the gym. I am asking myself what else can you cut back? What life is thing What can we do? I am really and truly tired of having a life like that.
Thank you

Agree! But, London is not expensive because of Brexit, or pandemic, it's because of government.
It is the state that has huge deficits funded by inflating currency supply, it's the state that closed big parts of the economy because of a flu, it's the state that spent 800 billions on a flu, it's the state that brings in as many immigrants as it can resulting in higher rent prices and lower labour (wages) prices, it's all demand and supply.

Taxation is huge, at least 60% of gross income will be taken away by the state (income tax, national insurance number, VAT, excise/duty taxes, capital tax gains, property taxes, inheritance tax, etc) And lets not forget about the "green energy" madness that made energy so expensive.

PS: it's not only state connected rich nomenklatura that , it's good for people living on state benefits: they have cheap rent (public housing), free healthcare, free education, plus all the free money state benefits brings in (see Universal Credit that combined housing benefit, child tax credit, income support, working tax credit, income-related support allowance, etc)

Like below, you will be able to live but you might not be able to save having 5k per month in London as a couple and/or with children. Rent would be at least £2,500. The cost of living crisis has made London extremely unaffordable
Anonymous on Sep 20, 2023:
@ Anonymous on Sep 16, 2023

I am not sure if you actually live in London and whether you know how ridiculously expensive it has become thanks to brexit, pandemic and inflation?
How much do people in London earn if the majority do not even have £40,000 per year? How do they live?
In my opinion £40,000 per person is not that much if you take into consideration how crazily expensive rent alone is :(
On top of that you have got other bills to pay like water, gas, electricity, council tax, broadband, Tv licence, phones… If they want to have a car that is another big monthly expense: insurance, petrol, parking permits, ulez (if the car does not meet the emissions standars) £12.50 a day, congestion £15 a day, any penalties which are so easy to get in London …
Using public transport is not cheap either. A weekly ticket for zones 1-3 is almost £50 and there are 9 zones in London …
There is so much to do in the city but it costs a lot. If they want to save up for a deposit, holidays, future that £5000 per month might not be enough as rent would eat half of that nowadays if not more!
London is good if you are rich …
Anonymous on Sep 16, 2023:
5000, per a month is a godd salary as long as your not trying to live in knightsbridge. Majority of people do not ear that wage in london. Best to look at what you can find to rent as that will have the biggest impact on your budget.

I think this is one of the most accurate estimations I have seen in an online site. The rent part definitely! I rece rented a 1bed apartment in Canary wharf and it came up to 2050 where in the normal rent here is even higher, approx around 2300ish for a 1bed. So, spot on with estimations!

Before Rishi Sunak became chancellor, UK didn't suffer the current out of control inflation.

It means UK only suffer the worst inflation under the leadership of the wrong chancellor Rishi Sunak while China doesn't almost suffer inflation and the inflation rate in China is awesomely 0% since April this year according to the news.

Awkwardly the inflation-terrorist Rishi Sunak is promising now to control his mess-up inflation if were winning the PM race. How can anyone trust this dishonest Rishi Sunak to destroy his own creation of inflation?

If Rishi Sunak were further allowed to mess up UK, UK would certainly suffer the incredibly worst inflation instead of the current out of control Inflation and then 50% of population might be wiped out due to hot inflation as declared by the famous Robert Kiyosaki. If that really happened, not only the inflation-terrorist Rishi Sunak but also the queen who might also be deported to India as a punishment for being so unacceptably ignorant and irresponsible to the inflation grief of UK taxpayer for so long.

Only people with British ancestor should be used for high positions in the government for the interest of the people from now on because only British people would take care of the interest of the British people not the other way around.
Anonymous on Jul 07, 2022:
Union is also the devil which is endlessly driving for higher inflation unpredictably so it's time to dismantle union for good in order to destroy inflation.

Not only the higher minimum wage but also the higher energy price is also driving inflation endlessly until so far so the current unacceptably world-highest energy price must also be adjusted fairly according to the lowest international price in order to destroy the current out of control inflation.

The current unacceptably world-highest minimum wage is not a good starting point to compete on the international stage since exiting the European Union so minimum wage should be adjusted much lower for the good of country.

Destroying the current out of control inflation and imposing much lower minimum wage are good together and good for the country.

For DEEPAK: Expect total taxes, national health, other mandatory deductions to take about 60% of gross, so your net income will run a little over 3000/month. Rent & utilities will take at least 50-60% of that, IF you can find a relatively inexpensive apartment. Housing in outlying areas can be cheaper, but expect transportation costs to eat much of your savings in addition to being very time-consuming. Inflation rates are 9% and rising rapidly, especially for energy, heat. Friend's power bill just rose to over 1000/month. You also need to plan on needing an expensive wardrobe for cold, rainy weather, but if you buy high quality items, they could last you a while. Expect to spend several thousand pounds on arrival for appropriate clothing, shoes, raincoat with wool liner, etc.

For the sake of independence and survival, Europe and United Kingdom must immediately ban gas throughout Europe and United Kingdom and the gas must be immediately replaced with other cheaper alternatives coming from such as hydropower plant, Nuclear energy, wood, coal, etc which can be independently produced in Europe and United Kingdom without requiring dependence from untrustworthy source.

It's time to build Nuclear power plant as much as necessary in order to provide sufficient power for Europe and United Kingdom as well as to provide the free city transportation including bus and train powered by electricity in order to discourage the public from using the oil fueled cars as the first step to permanently remove oil dependence from Russia and Russia's manipulated OPEC.

Nation destroyer Biden who has proved his trustworthiness by completely destroying the Afghanistan earlier has earned 2 more naive preys now to be able to slaughter soon and they are UK and Australia.

It should be a good show for the whole world to watch again after the recent Afghanistan destruction where Biden's next destruction heads this time either US directly or the other 2 unfortunate preys.

UK is much more smarter than the cunning fox Biden so shouldn't follow Biden's footsteps for self destruction and instead prepare to take over the superpower status from the US by showing the world that UK can be the hope of the world where there is no inflation and the money is trustworthy as much as gold unlike the US where Biden has been mercilessly robbing people's money through inflation tax corruptly even under the current pandemic period unlike never seen before throughout history so that the whole world shall dump all US dollar consequently very soon until US is completely ruined financially and then purchase UK pound to substitute the US dollar if the UK pound were trustworthy. The biggest opportunity in a lifetime is coming soon and the winner takes all.

As for US, there is no remedy as long as being manipulated by the communist tyrant Biden and consequently US is going to be destroyed by the freeloader Biden eventually just like what he did with the Afghanistan destruction irresponsibly.

The most terrible wage-grown led inflation is out of control across UK is absolutely not acceptable and unfair to all of the innocent people in UK while the billionaire queen seems so happy wearing her priceless jeweleries recently seemingly without thinking of all of her people suffering inflation badly under the torment of her wicked Indian finance minister.

So the culprit, the Indian Rishi Sunak should be deported immediately to where he's coming from originally through his forefathers in order to return justice to all of the victims suffering inflation badly due to the recent wage grown manipulated by the wicked Rishi Sunak in UK even during this epidemic period inhumanely, absolutely beyond belief!

All inflation must be removed at all cost just like the Imperial Japan, etc even if the recent wage grown were needed to be removed in order to achieve the result.

Among the kingdoms, Japan imperial system, etc have done a good job to their own people by preventing inflation across their countries until recently so there is no inflation in Japan, etc unlike other corrupt countries led by the current untrustworthy US thief.

So it's very important to strictly deploy only our own race to monitor especially our most important central bank for the benefit of our own people just like Japan or else deploying other races such as middle eastern, Indian, Chinese, etc in our own central bank is like allowing probable terrorists and thieves to condemn our own beloved people which shouldn't happen for the greatest kingdom on earth.

Renting in London has its challenges. This is something all newcomers, or even long term residents experience. Price, location, size...these are all very important factors to consider. London is in demand, as a place to live and it makes it a very competitive city for flat hunting. It is also a large city, and a diverse one and choosing the right location for you is something that can take time. Personally I think the move towards flats and communities based around coliving are the next new thing in London. It takes away a lot of the stress involved with flat hunting- there are some great coliving companies with some great inventory and some great apartments. Generally rents include all bills, wifi; a lot of the complexes have co working spaces, community spaces, events and workshops. You don't have to deal with individual landlords, you don't have to deal with a lot of paperwork. It takes all the stress out of finding an apartment. There are so many coliving options in London- this one is one example, https://www.vondereurope.com/

Japan fascist not only founded the terrorist Myanmar military but also looted together with the support of the terrorist Myanmar military to all the riches of Myanmar which was nurtured for decades to become the richest country in Asia under the great British rule.

Instead of destroying the terrorist Myanmar military easily after WW2, the traitor Nicholas Mountbatten sided with the terrorist Myanmar military probably due to being handsomely bribed by the terrorist Myanmar military to the extent of handing over the sovereignty right to the leader of the terrorist Myanmar military.

If Winston Churchill were still in power after WW2, the terrorist Myanmar military would certainly be destroyed completely for the treason and the fate of Myanmar would be completely different now for good under the British rule unlike the current fake democracy system implemented by the terrorist Myanmar military.

China and Russia still deliberately support the genocide criminal Myanmar again during the recent UN assembly.

China communist party is the most inhumane organizations, not considering the suffering of the genocide victims of Rohingya though China itself suffered the most terrible atrocities as great as genocide under Japan empire during WW2.

Though India's relationship with Myanmar is much better than China's relationship with Myanmar, India abstained from voting at the Myanmar case against genocide crime in UN assembly recently, at least India didn't support the genocide criminal Myanmar.
India have a sense of humane dignity unlike inhumane China which deliberately supporting Myanmar for its genocide crime in the name of not interfering in its internal affairs.

Whatever China's supporting is non of the business of the world community as long as China is not the head of UN but the problem is that China is the head of UN so the world community is stuck with the untrustworthy China and no whatsoever justice and humane dignity would be rendered by the very inhumane China and Russia.

So without justice and humane dignity being place at the top agenda of China and Russia in its handling of UN matters, both should be kicked out of UN immediately by the world community or else UN is no longer relevant to the world community.
