We have lived in Burlington for 45 years. We were originally from Hamilton. Having raised 3 children here, we love it. We went through more difficult times with the Barnardo murders and some others too in the early 90s, but overall, we are still relatively safe.

Car thefts have increased throughout Halton Region because of a higher availability of expensive cars & the means thieves have now to easily access these digitally controlled cars. Work needs to be done on this, but overall, I feel safe. I do take extra precautions when I get in my car, but I always have. I also don’t want an expensive car. Finally, we installed a security camera because it’s so easy to do today and I feel it is just being proactive to securing ones home in this day and age.

Crime is increasing and more violent in past 3-4 years. I've been here over 20 years and see the difference. During the pandemic there was a influx from larger communities avoiding the COVID risks associated with population density. That plus we have the worse mayor ever - a lying phony that campaigned on a platform of limiting development and then when elected created more over development than has been seen in the previous 20 years. Pre-2020 Burlington was chill and a nice quiet community to raise a family. Still comparatively better than other areas close by but won't be for long... especially with the current mayor. Once the last of my kids are "launched" and on their own in the next couple of years I'll be moving away.(agree with Anon Jan 27th but I think Burlington has caught up surpassed Milton for crime & agree with Apr 26...Anon Nov 14... seriously? not in my 20+ years)

Crime happens everywhere it’s all about connections so certain individuals can get u into trouble might not be bad in poverty but that doesn’t mean u take the place as a joke that goes for any place in the world.

Women walk around topless with no issue so I'd consider it rather safe.
