I am a single international female living in the downtown of Hamilton it is super unsafe, and I am going to move to Burlington. I just came here to study.

This is probably skewed by "people using drugs" as "high" (no pun intended)... if we remove that though how much victimed crime is there?

Live in downtown Hamilton, depending on where you are it can be super sketchy. We live near Barton, which is a horrendous cesspool of crime and poverty. Past Barton tho it’s not bad unless you’re near first Ontario centre

Hamilton is very 2 sided, the "mountain" is basically the poverty line of the city. The Mountain is overall very safe, just avoid the North Mountain {Concession St. Neighbourhoods Between Upper Gage/Upper Wentworth} Downtown though, {Lower Mountain} can be very dangerous, Especially East Of James/John St, Where most of the crime is located. There is also some pockets of the city along King/Main St E. That are dodgy. Most of the crime is petty, like homeless people breaking into vehicles, looting them. But some is violent. Most of the violent crime takes place on Barton St E. {Robberies, Shootings, Prostitution, Etc.} Anyways, just watch your back when youre downtown lol. Thanks for reading.

Crime is concentrated in the area East of James Street N. The further West you live in the city, the lower the crime rate. A lot of homeless and poor Whites in those areas.
