Malahide is great .. most of the time. Fab restaurants beach and shops. Drug crime has developed everywhere... Innocent children are lured/ get addicted. That is sad. Be aware. Some parents devastated..

Just to explain the very high drug stat. Malahide has a massive underground drug scene targeting wealthy teens who can afford to pay with their high allowances. These drug dealers up the prices and eventually the allowance won't cover the cost. I know a couple of parents who have had scary men coming to their door and demanding that they bail their child out. If you're a young family moving in to Malahide, I urge you to proceed with caution.
Other than that, there are so many benefits to living Malahide. If you're visiting you probably won't even notice the problems. It's still a great place to be!

Malahide is an upmarket area but during summer months gets people from all over coming to the park and village. Most of time is fine but you might get the odd gang there (usually from coolock or kilbarrack coming in and causing trouble)

Malahide had a bad phase during covid but it has definitely died down a lot. Don't be discouraged by the stats here as they're quite screwed from when Malahide had it's worst phase of crime.. Do be cautious in the Village at night as it can get busy and there is always a lot of drunk people..

East Malahide is very safe, west Malahide is far from it... Tons of teenagers causing trouble.. I know a lot of them personally, Most of them are wealthy and think they can do anything they want...
Parents don't seem to care for some reason...

Malahide is a very safe town, however there is a big drug problem amongst teenagers from The secondary school, there is a lack of action from the gardaí and the school. If your just visiting Malahide it shouldn't affect you at all.
