I've lived on the shore for 18 years. In that time I've had my car broken into twice. I've had one altercation with a young driver who decided I wasn't crossing the road quick enough! But as a general rule I'd say North Shore is one of the safest places in the Auckland area. I never feel unsafe in daylight hours, and only moderately at night.

Generally, crime is very low on the North Shore and I almost never feel unsafe if I am walking around either at night or during the day. I have lived here for thirty years and I have never had my house broken into, never had my car broken into or anything stolen. Probably where I feel least safe, and then only rarely, is in my car when the traffic is congested because some other drivers sometimes get very aggressive.
