Continents with the 10 most homicidal countries 2023- (- political violence, social upheaval and so forth)

Africa = 7

America = 2

Asia = 1

Source: State Department

Africa has increased to 7 of the top 10 from 6 in previous years. Spare a thought for European countries.

i find this really innaccurate. dc crime is passed memphis in ward 5-8 so it aint no way this is accurate the only safe spots in dc is like downtown or the tourist spots other then that then you are in danger of carjackers/crossfire/etc

The areas near the White House, Capitol Hill, National Mall are very safe. However if you ride one or two Metro stops to the north of the previously mentioned government buildings you can find yourself in a quite bad neighborhood and you need to be cautious even during daytime. City definitely worth visiting, the choice of restaurants is just amazing, however if you plan on living there you might want to either live near the government buildings or in the suburbs in Virginia or Maryland which are very safe. The majority of neighborhoods in DC however are NOT safe.
