The price of meat in our local stores has really shot up. One medium sized lamb shank was $20!! this used to be an inexpensive cut of meat...one will not feed a family so I used to buy two. Now that we're empty-nesters one will do, but only because we're not big eaters. Lamb was not the only meat that was expensive....I paid $12 for sausages, and beef roasts were over $30! I'm happy to become vegetarian but my husband isn't convinced.
