Thanks for that Robert. Wow, prices really are going up there then! We're renting in Suzhou just now. I really like it here, but the cost of buying property is just to high for us. Zhuhai sounded like a cheaper option, but not sure it is now!

The housing prices has gone ballistic since 2016. The figures found here reflect pre-coronavirus prices. Typical housing prices outside of Zhuhai city center is around 34,000 to 37,000 RMB/m2. Most of us anticipate increases to expand towards 50,000 RMB/m2 in the next five years.

A three bedroom house, with two baths, can be rented out at 6,500 RMB/month in Jida. But you will need to pay a management fee of around 650 RMB/month. Thus making the total around a solid 7,000 RMB/month.

ZHuhai is growing and expanding everywhere. In Jida there are three brand new malls going up and numerous office buildings. With all the infrastructure and construction comes a graduated increase in costs.
