Beaumont is a cesspool only those who are either born and raised here, or those who are here because there's money from the oil industry that starts them.

Prices for everything are higher than they are in much better places.
And the local school district places leaves much to be desired.

Bigotry and crime is off the charts and the local police know only went to much about it even if you witness someone stealing something or breaking into your home, but they'll actually discourage you from filing a police report. It's in the top 1 percent of crime infested cities in the county.
Google "is Beaumont Texas a safe place to live?".

Thieves know the police won't bother with "petty thefts" so they're bolder here than anywhere I've ever known. Even the wards in Houston...

Homeless people asleep on the steps of the library, in abandoned houses and buildings, even in pipes and parking lots of convenience stores.

Panhandling is illegal, but unavoidable especially in the south, north and east end of the city. The west end is about the only area where police do much about vagrants.

The mentally ill are dumped out onto the streets where many are crack or heroine addicts who beg, borrow or steal whatever they can wherever they can.

Property and school taxes are high. And your not going to get much for your school tax dollars.
The labor pool here was so polluted I was never able to hire anyone in the 17 years I was in business here who didn't steal more than they produced or was very concerned with producing much at all.

After several breakins and the constant occurrence of thefts I've decided to cash out and get away from here.

If you do choose to come here to stay, be prepared to protect yourself and your property against a population of people who have nothing to lose and have no fear of any happening to them if they get caught.
Take a handgun course and learn to shoot because the people you may confront in your home or on the street may well be armed and spend a fair amount of their time practicing and becoming proficient with a gun or knife.

Take heed to what the Google results say, you're safer in 99 percent of the other cities in America based on just the crime level.

The pollution is another issue that's off the charts.

I wouldn't send my worst enemy to Beaumont.

R only prior I know it who DAT they like it here have never been anywhere to have anything to compare Beaumont to.
Once they leave they rarely ever come back.
