Pattaya is an acquired taste. I personally love it here. It's fun, safe, affordable and if you're a single male with adequate income, one of the best places to live in my opinion.

Pattaya is NOT for everyone.
I meet way too many expats who come here because they have no where else to go and they don’t “fit” anywhere in the world.
They sit in bars all day drinking, smoking, and ruining their health while paying some girl a couple hundred baht to listen to them complain. (The girls deserve a lot more for having to listen to someone who only complains and is just throwing their life away haha)
Pattaya is an ADULT TOWN and not for anyone who wants rainbows and unicorns.
BUT, Pattaya CAN BE so much than just bars and women.
I find many things to see and do and this is without traveling out of ChonBuri area.
I love Thailand, Thai food, Thai culture, and Thai women.
Pattaya is a “creation” of the Vietnam War for men to have fun.
It is NOT what Thailand is about. Not at all.
Come to Pattaya if you are a man seeking the company of beautiful willing women.
But PLEASE don’t come here expecting something else and just sit and complain.
If you’re a male and want to have adult fun, you’ve hit the jackpot.
If you can’t be happy here, that’s on you and you NEVER understood what Pattaya is all about.
Essentially, Love it or leave it!
Let the insults begin..haha

quality of life:
there are many factors that make up the quality of life in a city, region or even in a particular suburb.
Among these,in our(my wife and I)particular case,
1) Traffic
2) Noise pollution
are a concern in the area of
Pratumnak-Jomtien in South Pattaya.
I would like to meet the localCommunity Leader to explain the situation.
Regards,
Paul Bisiani

If wearing shorts and flip-flops every day and living a relaxed lifestyle is your thing, Thailand will be for you.

Thais are friendly, kind-hearted people and welcome foreigners with open arms. Known for its nightlife, Pattaya doesn't disappoint. An extraordinary place to live. However, Pattaya is not for everyone!
